| Sujet: Que signifie "Reconsitution historique"? Ven 14 Avr - 18:26 | |
- The term re-enactment was first introduced by the English historian and philosopher Robin George Collingwood (1889 - 1943). His theory of re-enactment said that a historian could only gain knowlege of history through re-thinking source material.
Since the sixties the term is used for the process of replaying specific historical events (mostly battles) in the most accurate manner. Starting from USA and Great Britain, re-enactment turned into a free time pleasure, for both lay and historian. These men and women are called re-enactors.
Many of them aren't limitated to military action. They try to re-create daily life as authentically as possible, too. So, the meaning of re-enactment is being extended. As a result, re-enactment and living history often are used as synonyms.
